Red Poll
Red Poll cattle are mainly used as beef suckler cows, although a few dairy herds are found in England, as well as in the United States in the state of Texas. They are known for easy calving and successfully rearing a high proportion of their calves. They are sometimes used for conservation grazing.
They are also a heritage breed of British cattle and makes for mouth-watering steaks, burgers, mince and roasting joints with a strong flavour. All our Red Poll beef is grass-fed for an authentic rich taste and unbeatable texture.
They are a native Norfolk breed ideal for the land. ‘They are not too big, they are hardy and placid, and the meat is special, being beautifully marbled with lots of flavour. It is also high in polyunsaturates, omega 3 fats and, being less intensively farmed, which is good for you.
